What is All Things Google Course for Teachers?

All Things Google will introduce educators to several Google products, including Google Classroom, Advanced Search, Google Drive, Google News, Google Sites, YouTube, and more. Significant emphasis will be placed on how these tools can impact classroom practice, including writing, teaching, and reflecting on lesson plans using Google tools. Students will also create “How-To” screencasts to teach their students and/or colleagues how to use these Google tools. This Google training course for teachers is for all Elementary, Middle School or High School Teachers.

What Will You Learn in This PD course?

In this independent study course, you'll learn how to best utilize Google products in your educational role. This course is designed for the instructor who wants to utilize free, powerful, collaborative tools with their colleagues, students, and community. Utilizing various websites, participants will learn how these Google products work, and how they can use them in their educational role. Many of these products interact with each other, by “embedding”, etc. All national/Common Core curriculum standards can be taught using these tools, as well.

This course is applicable towards the Classroom Technology Integration Certificate and Online Teaching Certificate.

I feel so blessed to have had a job that I totally loved to do each and every day. I thoroughly enjoyed teaching elementary aged students for the past 38 years. I liked not only working with the children, but their families as well. I have made many lifelong connections with many of them. As a teacher, it is such a rewarding feeling to see my students “light come on” and see them understand the objective of the lesson. I was also very fond of working with other teachers and administrators and helping them understand and learn about technology. I always liked integrating technology into my lessons and helping others do the same. This really makes lessons come to life. All my FPU courses are very helpful for teachers to learn how to integrate technology into their classroom lessons. Working with my FPU students is great because they really want to learn and use what they have learned to make their classroom lessons so much better and more meaningful for their students.
