Practical Geology (The Great Courses Series)
Geology and the earth science have now become core curricular topics for the new generation of integrated science standards. Yet, the principles of the earth sciences-ideas that deal with vast stretches of both landscape and time-are hard for our minds to grasp. Many teachers continue to feel underprepared to teach these topics and seek to bolster their understanding of the earth sciences.
Presented in a phenomena-based, 3-D curricular format, Practical Geology is designed to teach the major principles of the earth sciences using examples from everyday life. These examples can be incorporated into any classroom setting so that students can easily recognize these geologic principles at work. Delivered from the perspective of a lively lab setting with many visual aids, this course is highly engaging and practical. Teachers of all grade levels will find valuable understanding, insight, and material throughout this course.
This course is applicable towards the Physical Science Teaching Certificate.
