This was a great course and extremely comprehensive in its content, the only negative thing I have to say about this course is the time it takes to complete the assignments. It is difficult to do for a person who teaches fulltime and has a family.

I loved the flexibility the course provided to complete the assignments. Personally, I love putting together presentations because I’m more of a visual thinker, so the PowerPoints and Prezis were enjoyable to create. I appreciated reading other students’ thoughts through the discussion posts as well. The only addition I think could be made to enhance the course would be to update the content to include the presidents up to the current president. The election of 2016 alone would provide great content, especially throughout module 6 when discussing the presidency and mass media. Other than that, I truly enjoyed this course and would recommend it to anyone interested in American politics.

This course was very informative not only on the American Presidents, but how one comes to occupy the Oval Office. The Electoral College and the use of Mass Media were also themes in the course. The ever important First Lady was also a part of the course. The fact that there was a DVD series and reference text offered variety when obtaining background knowledge. The assignments took you from our very earliest Presidential History to our nation's modern Presidential History. Overall, I was very pleased with the course.

I have taken several continuing education courses through Fresno Pacific, and they've all been excellent. But this and the Lincoln and Civil War America-SOC958, have been my two favorites. I feel much better equipped to examine aspects of the presidency, particularly issues surrounding executive power, with my fifth graders going forward!
