I would recommend this course to a coworker. The course was easy to follow, and I loved that it was self paced, so if I had a busy week I didn't have to worry about getting work done, but if I had more free time than I could get as much as I could done during that week. The instructor was very responsive, and I have new strategies and tools to use this upcoming school year.

I really thought this was an excellent course. I began the course last summer, prior to my first year teaching middle school math, (I am at a very small school, where I am the most established middle school teacher - so they place me where I am needed - but I have taught English, Science and Social Studies prior). What really stood out was the need for open discussion and allowing students to learn through exploring the content and discussing what they think prior to learning the formulas and symbols. Overall, I would recommend this course to a colleague.

Before taking this course I just thought Algebra was anything to do with variables, however this course taught me that it is so much more than that and Algebraic thinking is a progression. The professor gave timely feedback and was there to help us succeed. I really enjoyed the class! Thank you!

This course was very applicable to teaching junior high Math, especially if you are returning to the math classroom after a long period of time as I am. It emphasizes and encourages consideration and important of junior high Math as a crucial transition from concrete computation to more abstract thinking required as students move toward algebra and high level maths. I found it very practical and encouraging.

This was a great course that really helped me start thinking about how Algebraic Thinking needs to be happening not only in 6-8 but in upper elementary as well. The professor was great as well and very helpful. The modules were well developed and easy to do.

This course has opened my eyes to the path from which algebra and algebraic thinking stems from. I'm walking away with a much greater understanding of the concepts my students need to become strong algebraic thinkers, as well as a repertoire of tasks and ideas to implement in my classroom.

I really enjoyed this course and the time I spent working out actual math problems looking for multiple ways to solve.

This class was great! And it gave me a lot of interesting thoughts about Algebra and how we should approach teaching it to our students. I look forward to incorporating the new ideas I learned into my class.
