What Is the Fit For You: A Guide to Wellness Course?

Explore health education strategies and the foundations of wellness education with the Fit For You: A Guide to Wellness course. The course prepares educators to teach students that achieving true wellness involves more than just being physically fit; it also requires finding balance in body, mind and spirit. Educators who take the course learn practical tools to help themselves and their students make lasting, positive changes.

This professional development course emphasizes promoting healthy lifestyles through nutrition, physical activity, stress management and self-care strategies that support overall well-being. By applying these principles in the classroom or their own personal life, educators learn how to cultivate healthier habits, boost energy and focus and inspire others to pursue lifelong wellness goals.

What Will You Learn?

The Fit For You: A Guide to Wellness course covers a variety of topics and health education strategies. Educators who complete the course will know how to:

  • Practice the concepts and findings of the three course workbooks: Physical Fitness, Nutrition and Stress.
  • Develop and fulfill a “wellness contract” as a way of maintaining self-motivation.
  • Recognize the related health issues of diet and cardiovascular fitness.
  • Manage stress and its effects on health and disease.
  • Develop, teach and evaluate a series of lessons to adapt Fit for You to classroom practice.

What Are the Assignments and Projects?

Students can enroll in the Fit For You: A Guide to Wellness course at any time and take up to one year from the registration date to complete all assignments. Modules within the course include:

  • Healthy Living
  • Book Report
  • Personal Wellness Proposals
  • Application of Course Materials to Teaching
