What a great class. What a great concept. And to be honest "Flipping a Classroom" is not really that crazy of a concept. It is simply changing up the formula of teaching while keeping end result in mind. I was most moved by the story our instructor shared about his first experience "flipping a classroom" and how it became quite the mess. And I kept thinking, why? I mean, we have been changing educational teaching modules for 50 years. Why is this one so controversial? And, maybe it is the incorporation of technology as part of it, and many people distrust technology. But after taking this class, listening to the pedagogy, studying lessons, and making lessons, the whole concept of a "flipped" classroom makes sense. There are many reasons In may not be able to "flip" my entire class, but I absolutely imagine I will be running many lessons this way going forward. it just makes too much sense. Well, either way, I will finish where I started and repeat, this was a great class and a great concept The class was excellently managed, instructed, paced, and delivered. The learning was relevant and really constructed well. Great class.

I enjoyed this class, and even enjoyed the book (that surprised me), and I was challenged and presented with some reflection opportunities to improve my craft, as well as consider some excellent tools to use, in making my classroom flipped or, at the very least, creating a more student-centered environment.

I was grateful for the professor's patience. He did give feedback on the assignments that were graded--which I appreciated. On the downside, the instructions were unclear and complicated. I think that he was trying to leave it open but I felt frustrated every time that I went to complete an assignment. This frustration led me to keep putting it off which did not help. If he could check all of his links (some did not work). If he could also look through the assignments which looked like a cut and paste job that went wrong, the course would be more engaging.

TBH the course overwhelmed me a bit which surprised me for being a CEU course. Right off the bat, the first assignment requires the reading of a 112 page book and then writing a 3-page paper about it which, I thought, was a bit excessive. Furthermore, the "creating a video" assignment was a challenge for me to obtain the tools and circumstances needed to fulfill the assignment. Having said the foregoing, if you are wanting to "flip" your classroom, this course will completely prepare you to do so; I guarantee it! I know the instructor personally, and he is very knowledgeable and helpful. Just be prepared to put in the work!

Enjoyed the course, and Kevin's instructions and expectations were clear. It was a great learning opportunity. My only regret- that there isn't more research on the subject, and research reviews/research-based best practices in the course/textbook. However, this is a relatively new trend and as such there may not be much research available.

This course is a great way to learn how to use the flipped classroom, even if you don't plan to use the flipped mastery model in your room, but rather a mixed model. If you don't know your way around different technology (videotaping, uploading and downloading different files, editing, Google Drive) you may want to take a Google Docs or Web 2.0 course first. I learned a lot that I will be using in my room this year.
