TEC-938 is an extremely interesting, though-provoking, and useful course. It is extremely well organized and the assignments and lessons are easy to follow. I have already begun to apply the concepts in my role as a Biology teacher and I enthusiastically recommend this course, as well as any other Steve Young class offerings, as they will provide an extremely valuable and applicable experience.

Professor Young is an excellent and timely communicator, and he was immensely helpful in clearing up some misunderstandings I had along the way. I would highly recommend him as a professor. However, I would not recommend this course unless you are a computer user with very limited skills. This course is woefully outdated (the textbook is copyright 2008), and because of that, many of the examples and suggested software programs are obsolete. I was disappointed that this course was more of a reiteration of what I had learned in high school and undergrad (early 2000s) rather than the expanding of skills for computer use in the 2020s.

Steve was great when I had a few questions about the assignments. He cleared up how to download the software, which was an issue due to virus blocks. This was a class that gave you lessons on theory, then you got to complete projects that you were able to use right away in your classroom. It was a little bit difficult at first, but once I took it one lesson at a time, it went fine. Good luck!

This course requires a textbook that must be purchased or borrowed. The CD is not required, but it was helpful when trying to complete one of the assigments. Most assignments are relfections on text passages. The instructions are very clear. This is a much more text-based course when compared to similar Fresno courses that more project-based.

This is the second time that I have had a Professor Young class and still appreciate how he makes the material all relevant to what I need to learn to become a better teacher. I especially appreciate that I am able to use the projects which were required for the course and not just assigned for the sake of doing projects. I highly recommend Professor Young and Fresno Pacific!

This would be a good course for someone with limited computer experience. The instructor was helpful and prompt in answering any questions I had. The material really needs to be updated because the course disk, textbook, and materials packet used old (and in some cases obsolete) software. This made a few of the assignments more difficult because I had to spend extra time searching for software I could use to complete the tasks.
