Comparing World Religions
Examine the major religions of the world, including Christianity, Judaism, Islam, Buddhism, and Hinduism. Emphasis will be placed on each religion's origins, historical development, central doctrines, and important rituals in order to locate the similarities and differences between each faith. Additional focus will be placed on the role of religion in American history and in today's global community. This course addresses the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards; Common Core Standards for Literacy and Writing in History/Social Studies; College, Career, and Civic Life (C3) Framework for Social Studies State Standards; National Standards for World History, and National Standards for U.S. History. Local travel is required.

I have been an educator in various capacities at both the college and secondary levels. At Fresno Pacific University, I have taught courses in Biblical studies, history, and liberal arts and have developed several courses for teachers seeking to earn continuing education units. I have also worked with new teachers at the high school level via master teaching and serving as a BTSA support provider. For over a decade, I have taught AP courses in U.S. History and American Government and Politics.
