This was one of the best courses I've taken. I learned that executive functioning impacts much more than organization and can directly affect a student’s behavior, ability to learn, and overall success in the classroom. I also learned how important it is to look beyond a challenging behavior to understand its function and use collaboration, data, and appropriate interventions to support the student. Most importantly, this course reminded me that students need individualized support, and as teachers, we need to be flexible, reflective, and willing to adjust our approach when something is not working. Super valuable for my career!

ompleting SED-913 was a valuable and practical learning experience. The course strengthened my understanding of executive functioning skills and how difficulties with organization, planning, task initiation, self-monitoring, and emotional regulation can affect students throughout the school day.
