I really enjoyed this course and the feedback provided by my instructor. I felt as if the information was valuable and applicable to my classroom and students. Never did I feel overwhelmed by the courseload or information and I would recommend this class for anyone considering or already working in Special Education. Dr. Lane made this class very enjoyable, thank you!

As a bilingual special education teacher, I found this course directly useful in my daily work. The IRIS Center case studies gave me realistic situations to think through, and the Rick Lavoie videos were the most powerful part. F.A.T. City let me feel, for a few minutes, the frustration my students live with every day. The reflection assignments asked me to examine my own practice, which is not something I take time for during the school year. The instructor's feedback was specific and encouraging. I would recommend this course to special education teachers and to general education teachers who co-teach.

The course did a great job opening my eyes to the wide variety of challenges which students may come in contact within a classroom.

Overall, I had a positive experience with this course. The content was relevant to my work as a speech-language pathologist, and I appreciated the practical strategies and resources that I can apply in a school setting. The assignments encouraged meaningful reflection without feeling disconnected from real-world practice, making the course both useful and engaging.

High Incidence Disabilities is a very comprehensive course covering all of the learning disabilities that you will see in students in your classroom. You will finish the course with a "tool it" on accommodations and how to address the needs of your students.
