Teaching Badminton

Overall, I enjoyed the badminton class. I knew the basic rules before, but the assignments helped me think more about how to actually teach a badminton unit. My favorite part was planning the tournament because students get to compete and use the skills they practiced. The observations were also helpful. I felt comfortable organizing the lesson and working with the students because of my coaching background. I still need to improve my badminton-specific technique and how I give feedback during gameplay. Overall, the class gave me some useful ideas and made me more comfortable teaching badminton.

I would recommend this course because I learned a lot about the sport of Badminton, the history behind it, resources to use, and built a full unit for it. My professor was very quick at grading and responding to my work, which I also very much appreciated.

Learned a lot on how to use the standards of the Physical Education world into the specifics of the Unit topic. I was able to further do research on different things out there in the world of badminton in order to create different drills assignments to better coach a student in the sport.
