Fantasy Literature has given me so many new ideas to share with my students. They truly enjoy this genre because of their age (6-8th grade). Each assignment within the course sharpened my awareness, and gave me new insight into why this particular element is crucial at this point in their education! It's just fun to delve into the many examples and develop new ways to apply them in my classroom, especially in my Creative Writing and Creative Thinking classes. I truly enjoyed this course.

As someone who has struggled to enjoy the fantasy literature, I loved the freedom of the course and the resources that are provided to help provide a meaningful yet "fun" experience for students. Fantasy should allow for the creativity and exploration of students, and the course helps to promote that experience.

I have truly enjoyed this comprehensive course. This is the fourth course that I have taken with Fresno Pacific, and it is my favorite one. I will take two more courses. The coursework allows for an in-depth analysis of fantasy literary works, as well as strategies for incorporating reading, writing, and responding in the bilingual classroom.

Usually not too interested in Fantasy Literature, I found myself interested in the authors that have been newly discovered, especially Natalie Babbitt. I will be sharing her books with the middle school students I will be teaching in the coming school year (as a substitute teacher).

I really liked this course. The resources were both interesting and helpful. The bibliography gave me a lot of choices but did not limit me to only the books listed. I particularly enjoyed reading T.A. Barron, an author I had not read before but whose Merlin stories have mesmerized me. I am looking forward to introducing his novels to my senior class when we began the Arthurian unit.

This course provided me with greater insight to the educational worth of the fantasy genre. In the middle and high school levels, fantasy is often left for pleasure reading, but this course reminded me that students could learn important themes, literary elements, author's craft, and connections to our history and real-world situations. I enjoyed having the opportunity to explore young-adult fantasy literature and finding meaningful activities to implement in my classroom.

I really enjoyed this course. Mrs. Reimer does not require any nonsense work. She allows you to enjoy the course by only requiring the needed workload.
