The choice of course materials was excellent, and the application students are asked to do is worthwhile and valuable to studying the subject in question. I appreciated the ability to choose from a variety of ways to demonstrate what I had learned, and felt that the learning tasks were productive and engaging.

Overall, this class generated helpful instructional ideas for assisting me in teaching Animal Farm. I thoroughly enjoyed Elaine's coursework as it shaped great opportunities for instruction with my 8th-grade students.

I appreciated that this course was self-paced and included much student-choice. It was also helpful that it was so practical, and it was wonderful that I was essentially preparing a future unit while also gaining CEU credits. There was one section of the course where it was difficult to determine whether students were to read two or four articles to complete the course. Reviewing the directions under the "Secondary Readings" and "Completing the Course" to ensure they are the same and clear would be helpful for future students.

I really enjoyed the course. The selection of novels to choose from has a great variety of interesting stories across all genres. The assignments allow us as the students to truly interact with the text and leave with a deeper understanding of the novel. deeper meaning.
