I enjoyed this course and liked how our responses weren't simply summaries but had us look at how the tales would succeed with students. As an early elementary librarian, I would also like to see tales in this course that are not only in an anthology as the two textbooks were. I use a lot of picture books with this age and find the illustrations are important to the stories for my students, as well.

Learning more about Folktales has been, and will continue to be, very helpful in the work with my students. I wasn't sure how well I would learn using an independent study class format, but the instructor of this course was quick to respond to any questions I had and made it so much more enjoyable. I will definitely be taking more classes from Fresno and Elaine Reimer-Pare in the future.

This class was perfect for my schedule. The busy life of a teacher and mom makes it hard to complete traditional grad classes. But this class was perfect speed and content for me.

I enjoyed reading a variety of folk tales. I wish this course provided some examples of how to use them in the classroom, instead of only asking us to create out own lessons.
