Teaching Elementary Health

Your classroom must be a place for the next generation of young Americans to develop appreciation for the joy of learning, as well as acquiring a solid foundation for a healthy lifestyle. The theme of the class is 'every teacher is a health teacher.' The objective is to help students establish life-long living habits and skills. Course content includes nutrition, health and substance abuse, cardiovascular health, mental health, first aid, healthy school environment, applicable school screening tests, SHAPE America National Health Education standards, and other current health issues that confront all elementary school teachers.

This course is applicable towards the Health Education Teaching Certificate.
