If you are looking for student-led discussion and rigor in teaching fiction, this is the course for you. I find the strategies from the course invaluable because they are not only effective but also easy to implement, making it easier to enhance student engagement and reading comprehension. I look forward to exploring the authors’ companion book for nonfiction.

Close?Reading?Strategies quickly became a standout. It flexed around my schedule yet pushed my thinking. The signposts, anchor questions, and modeled lessons showed me concrete ways to guide students beyond surface level comprehension. I left ready to turn any text into a deeper, livelier discussion.

This course was really helpful to me! I love the way it was organized. The text was practical and offered helpful tips ready to implement immediately. I appreciated how responsive the professor was to my emails and questions. It was really helpful to be able to manage completion around my schedule of working full-time and raising four children. It was a great experience that I highly recommend to anyone in my position. I will be back the next time I need units for my job.
