I really enjoyed learning about Sprenger's methods for teaching vocabulary instruction, and increasing retention among students.

This course was very informative and thorough. I really enjoyed Sprenger's steps and comparing it to Marzano's steps. I knew vocabulary was important before this course, but this course has really made me want to go even deeper and more into teaching vocabulary! Thankful for this instructor and course!

The textbook was useful and had some great strategies. Some of the assignments had a lot of components and materials that went along with the reading which made it challenging to complete some of the assignments.

This course offers much more than the title suggests! It teaches brain-based learning strategies in addition to a variety of skills for direct vocabulary instruction. Sprenger's Seven Steps to Remembering are logical and easy to implement in any academic discipline. Plus, some assignments are tailored to those with a more visual communication style. Dr. Franks gave timely and helpful feedback on every assignment.
