This course really challenged and made me confront my personal biases and experiences, which gave me a new lens to look through as an educator.

This was a very helpful course. I had not heard of the term "cultural intelligence" before, though I was familiar with the basic concept. The whole course really drove home for me the importance of getting to know people in their own culture and according to their own experiences. It made me think carefully about how as a high school teacher I can better know and interact with my students, especially those whose skin is darker than mine and who may not look at the world in exactly the same way I do. Further, it especially challenged me to be more attuned to the interactions between my students and just how much my white students may be ignorant of and oblivious to the personal histories and life experiences of their black classmates. There will be opportunities to encourage growth and learning in my classroom in ways I have not done before. Emma was great (from 3 hours aways!) and always very kind and encouraging.

This course was excellent. I learned a lot about the human brain and learning. One of the things which really got my attention is the methods of learning...visual, auditory, kinesthetic, etc. I rate this class and what I learned a 5 star. There are problems with technology which isn't allowing me to rate the course with 5 stars.

This was absolutely the best professional development experience I have ever participated in! Every reading and assignment was intentional and relevant to my personal and professional life. I am so appreciative of the insights and concrete ideas I have gained. Everyone interested in growing their confidence and ability to work successfully across cultures should take this course as soon as possible!

The course was great and I learned so much about myself as well as increase my cultural intelligence. The workload was heavier than other courses I have taken at FPU. It would have been great to have some Asian perspectives in our learning. The professor was responsive and the course was well designed and thought out.

This class was very useful in helping me understand the different ways of life of different cultures, and will be very helpful as a teacher who is experiencing more diversity in the classroom on a regular basis.
