This course is designed to provide an introduction to sport concussions. Included are an introduction to brain anatomy, causes of concussions and what happens to the brain when some one sustains a concussion; sign and symptoms and short and long-term effects associated with concussions; review of different concussion assessment/evaluation tools; examination of return to-play protocols; how to prevent concussions; treatment and rehabilitation of individuals who have sustained concussions; concussions in professional sport; and current trends and research on concussions. Successful completion of this course leads to certification of completion by the National Federation of High School Associations (NFHS) in Concussion in Sport.

Note: Required book must be acquired separately.
