This is my second Fresno course I have taken as a first year Art Teacher. I absolutely loved this one. I really felt like I learned through the book and videos that the instructor would post. The assignments were clear and followed the same pattern for each of the 8 chapters, which I really appreciated. There was a mix of reading, drawing, and writing. I feel like everything was beneficial and served a purpose. I would recommend this to anyone looking to further their drawing skills.

This course was a great experience. Not only did I take away new skills, lesson ideas and pedagogy, I also grew as an artist myself.

I would recommend taking the course, Teaching Observational Drawing, because the course is thorough, the instructor is personable, the course is organized, and you will grow as an artist and teacher. This drawing course really packs in a lot of practical information, teaches specific skills, and presents great drawing lessons to try. In the book used with this course, Keys to Drawing, I appreciated the visual examples of skills taught. The balance between the text and supporting illustrations in this book was just right. And the instructor includes many additional drawing videos and readings to support the students taking this course. This course was a great experience. It stretched me as an artist and encouraged me as an art educator.

This class was very informative and great for my professional development needs! I enjoy the step by step process with all of the drawing projects that also go along with the reading assignments and links/videos to give us a foundation of useful techniques. I have now completed several Fresno Pacific University classes and plan on taking several more! By the way...the star rating above is a little wonky as it doesn't look like I am able to give all five stars. Only four stars are highlighted from my point of view. But I think that it was a five star course!
