Teaching technology to enhance both your professional and personal life is my passion. I recently retired in 2016 after 38 years in the classroom. During my career, I’ve taught everything from Architectural CAD to Algebra, from Woodshop to Web Design with the last 20 years being in technical subjects. Now I find myself teaching teachers and I pride myself on trying to be as supportive as possible.

Regardless of your background, I believe you will find I offer courses that are fun, relaxed, and offer practical challenges for users of all skill levels while working on your terms in an online environment. When a student completes one of my courses, it is my goal that they end up with skills and materials they can use in their classroom the very next day. Best of all, all of my courses use free, powerful software which allows you and your students to use it at school and home.

Professional Experience: Marysville Pilchuck High School, Marysville, WA, September 1996 – June 2004, Engineering & Architectural Computer Graphics and Computer Animation; Brussels American School, Brussels, BE, September 2004 – Present, Engineering and Architectural Computer Graphics (CAD), Web Design, Digital Imaging, Desktop Publishing, Video Production and Computer Animation; Educational Technologist.

Personal Experience: I’m currently enjoying long walks looking for my golf ball and hitting the occasional right note in our church choir. Photography, hiking and travel keep me busy. Overall, I’ve enjoyed building projects from new school programs to our home to a 200 mph 4-seat airplane from a book.

Family Info: My wife Vicky, retired as the school nurse at our school in Brussels, Paul (United States Naval Academy, 2014) is a Marine Pilot flying the CH-53 and David (United States Coast Guard Academy 2015) is a LTJG on USCG Fast Response Cutter Webber. David heads to flight school in May.

What I Like About FPU: Classes offered from quality instructors covering topics I can directly apply to my instruction.
