Eric Westland

After spending 38 years in the classroom, I retired in 2016 and transitioned to teaching teachers. My expertise spans diverse subjects, particularly in technical fields over the last three decades, from Architectural CAD to Algebra, Woodshop to Web Design. I take pride in offering enjoyable and relevant courses and creating a supportive environment for teachers of all backgrounds. In my classes, expect a relaxed atmosphere with practical challenges tailored to various skill levels. The online format allows flexibility, fitting seamlessly into your schedule. My ultimate goal is for every student to gain both enjoyable experiences and immediately applicable skills and materials for their classrooms.

Professional Experience: Marysville Pilchuck High School, Marysville, WA, September 1978 – June 2004, Math, Engineering & Architectural Computer Graphics and Computer Animation; Brussels American School, Brussels, BE, September 2004 – 2016, Engineering and Architectural Computer Graphics (CAD), Web Design, Digital Imaging, Desktop Publishing, Video Production and Computer Animation; Educational Technologist.

Personal Experience: I’m currently enjoying long walks looking for my golf ball and hitting the occasional right note in our church choir. Photography, hiking, and travel keep me busy. Overall, I’ve enjoyed building projects from new school programs to our home near Seattle to a 200 mph 4-seat airplane from a book.

Family Info: My wife Vicky, retired as the school nurse at our school in Brussels. Paul (United States Naval Academy, 2014) is a Marine pilot flying the CH-53 and currently attending the Naval Post Graduate School in Monterey, CA. David (United States Coast Guard Academy 2015) is a flight commander and flies C-130s for the USCG out of Elizabeth City, NC.
