Jump Into Reading / Beginning SIPPS is based on the work of John Shefelbine in systematic instruction in phonological awareness and phonics based instruction at the beginning level of reading. This course utilizes a literacy intervention instructional model for working with a small group of low-achieving readers. Although this course requires the prerequisite of practical application of teaching, the coursework hours to be credited are based upon reflections, readings, observing videos, student study, lesson documentation and in depth study outside of your school district contract time. Must have access to school, district, or personally purchased curriculum. Coursework is 45 total hours broken up into 4 modules.
