Learning Theories: CCSS for Teachers
3 Units
$540
Online
Instructor: Maryam Torbati
6/6/26 - Registration for this class will close the Friday before at 11:30am.
In this course we will look at several different theoretical perspectives on learning, cognitive development. As we'll see, no single theory can account for all aspects of human learning. By looking at a variety of theories, we can identify a range of tools that may be useful in understanding learning and teaching in a variety of settings. This course is also designed to aid the in-service educator (teacher, administrator, counselor, coach curriculum supervisor, etc.) in predicting, understanding, and controlling the fundamental principles of learning and human development as they apply in educational settings. The emphasis is on studying the variables shown by research to affect students and educators (especially classroom teachers) in the teaching/learning process.
After registering, please email the instructor to receive your reading assignments and zoom link: Dr. Maryam Torbati.
