SMART Advocacy® is a practical leadership workshop designed to empower parents, caregivers, educators, community members, and organizational partners to become effective advocates for children, schools, and communities. Participants will learn how to communicate effectively, build collaborative relationships, understand decision-making processes, and engage in constructive advocacy that creates meaningful and lasting change.
Grounded in the principles of servant leadership, civic engagement, and collaborative problem-solving, this workshop introduces the SMART Advocacy® Model, which encourages participants to take purposeful action at three interconnected levels: Personal, School/Industry, and Community. Through discussion, self-reflection, and practical application, participants will develop advocacy skills that promote positive relationships, informed decision-making, and stronger partnerships between families, organizations, and communities.
The workshop aligns with leadership, civic engagement, and family-community partnership standards by emphasizing collaboration, ethical advocacy, effective communication, and shared responsibility for improving outcomes for children and communities.
