This two-day professional learning institute is designed for K-5 teachers, instructional coaches, and school/district leaders. Developed by BSCS Science Learning in partnership with the Fresno County Superintendent of Schools, this workshop focuses on phenomenon-driven, three-dimensional science instruction that fosters authentic language development and scientific sensemaking. Participants will engage in hands-on, inquiry-based experiences to discover how the CA Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) can be leveraged to make scientific discovery accessible and engaging for students of all linguistic backgrounds.
