This professional learning cohort provides educators with in-depth training in the Science of Reading through the LETRS® (Language Essentials for Teachers of Reading and Spelling) framework. Participants will examine the research behind literacy acquisition and apply evidence-based instructional practices to support reading achievement for all students, including multilingual learners and students with reading difficulties.

The course aligns with the California English Language Arts/English Language Development Framework, the California Golden State Literacy Plan, and current research related to Structured Literacy and the Science of Reading. Participants will strengthen their knowledge of oral language, phonological awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, language comprehension, and reading comprehension.
