I loved TEC-940- Virtual Field Trips: Taking and Making! I had been wanting to find virtual field trips for my third grade students to take, so this course was a perfect fit for helping me fill that need in my classroom. This course has affected my professional life as an educator by getting me excited, wanting to brainstorm all the different possible experiences to take my students on. Many of my students have never seen snow, been to the beach, or the forest, so I want to take them there. I want them to see things they never have or might in their future. I feel that it will open their minds up to how big this world really is and how much there is to do and learn. I feel that it will result in them wanting to try new things or actually go to some of these places physically after they see it on a virtual field trip in class.

To be honest, this class was really great. I teach a wide variety of social studies classes and a virtual field trip lends itself too ALL of my classes. And the class is set up so well that when it became time to create my own field trip, I was able to sit down for a few hours and just knock it out without confusion and even a bit of excitement. I can and will use the field trip I made and will make more. On a side note, I took the class along with "The Flipped Classroom," and "All things Google". And i found all three classes worked so well together. I would suggest others to work on the "All things Google" and the "Virtual Field trips" modules first and then use those skills on "the Flipped Classroom." It made everything run smooth. Great class

This lesson is designed to expand upon with the vast resources on the internet and the world's art museums. I used Google Slides as a the presentation platform. It is easy to work with and students are already acclimated with the use of all Google tools in our school setting. I want to create a United States VFT and a Europe VFT to go with my Ohio VFT. This would enable students to get more experiences than we would have time for in a four year high school educational career. The Louvre alone would be extensive! I have enjoyed creating this technology project that will fit in nicely with my hands on art projects.

These days it's often too much of a hassle to take students on actual field trips. Not to mention the fact that the internet makes distant locations possible to visit when they are too far from a teacher's school. And there are amazing websites out there that do a pretty decent job bringing places to life for students. Without this course I am not sure I would have taken the time to investigate these websites and so I am grateful that I had the opportunity to do this. Loved the course!!

I had never heard of virtual field trips before finding this course in the listings. After completing the course I can say that it was more work than I anticipated, but the work was all well worth it. This is a technology class but the textbook is from 2001, more than 10 years old. The first assignment is to go through 20 of the websites, but most of them were no longer in existence. For a technology class, that is kind of sad. The instructor needs to update the text!

This class was a great experience! I created two virtual field trips that my students could complete using the laptops in the classroom. These sites can be viewed by their parents and my administrators as well! This is a very helpful way to integrate technology into the curriculum.

Wow!! I learned a ton about virtual field trips thanks to this course! Through the projects the professor planned, I learned where to find field trips, how to make flow charts, and even how to design and publish my own field trip. I liked the required textbook and the freedom to choose any addition you would like. I also enjoyed the fact that I could choose which sites I reviewed because I looked at sites I could use within my content area. I liked the freedom to complete the assignments at my own pace. I liked the feedback I received from the professor in a timely manner.
