Multiplication and Division with Manipulatives
Creating a learning environment that supports the development of understanding math concepts for our young learners is as critical as the choice of curriculum expectations. Learn how to encourage and promote understanding so children will learn that mathematics makes sense and is applicable to their everyday needs. This standards-based methods course is designed to provide teachers in the upper primary and middle grades (3-5 grades) with supplemental activities and manipulative materials that have been carefully sequenced for developing mastery of the basic facts of multiplication and division. The course assignments may be completed with or without classroom student participation. Go to www.kconnect.com to preview this course. All materials are included. This course was developed by Carol Gossett.

The courses I teach will provide you with multiple ideas and resources to guide the students you teach to foster their desire to learn, and to provide them with the necessary tools so that they may develop to their full potential. As you know, all children are unique, with differing interests, learning styles, skills and abilities, therefore, we must meet their needs to challenge them to be critical thinkers. As you complete this class I am here to support you, guide you, and share my many years of experiences teaching children and adult learners! My favorite teaching quote: “Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I remember. Involve me and I learn.” ~Ben Franklin
