This course is for the experienced ESL educator and/or content area educator with ESL certification. This course assumes the educator has knowledge of ESL pedagogy, as well as experiences working with a population of immigrant students. The engaging text models integrating story telling with students to improve literacy as well as create connections with language learners, developing an ideal classroom environment to maximize student literacy outcomes. This class is a conversation, with the goal of learning from each other and our language learners. This course focuses on the NBTS propositions 1 & 4 and is aligned to common core standards. Students will be asked to upload pictures of student work, create lesson plans in Microsoft Word, create videos using software of choice (iMovie or similar), and respond to discussion boards in Canvas.

NOTE: Required book must be acquired separately.
