Because I teach a Humanities course, I was particularly interested in this course. Latin America is one of the regions that we study, and although Soto's writing is set in the United States, I can definitely use his works to talk about how his culture influenced his writing. I learned a lot and have already started using some of his odes in my classroom.

This is an excellent course for teachers of all levels. My particular interest was using these stories with Special Education students. This was a good class to be introduced to Hispanic literature. There are a mixture of stories from picture books to chapter books.
