I really felt like I learned a lot from the assigned course material. Chris Trovani had very realistic and practical suggestions for how to aid students in comprehension. There were multiple examples she gave of first-hand exercises that I'll be able to try in my own classroom. The assignments were realistic and pertained well to what we were reading. They were also designed in such a way that I could implement what I did in the course into my own lesson plans.

The online delivery of the assignments and materials was easy to navigate, the course material and text was applicable to my classroom and lessons and I believe every lesson was tailored to things I do in the classroom. Not only did it give me new insight into content comprehension, the lessons gave me real and applicable classroom strategies and instruction and lessons that I can implement this school year. Mrs. Warmerdam is extremely helpful, kind, caring, and gives great feedback and does so in a very efficient manner! I would take another course like this and would take from this instructor again for sure!

I initially took this class because I needed credits for my ACSI certificate. However, I didn't realize how much I was going to get out of it when I was done. I learned so much during this course, and it was so fun and exciting. I appreciated reading Tovani's book on reading in the content area. The book was quite interesting and well written. She gave several practical ways for being intentional about reading in each discipline. Most of the information seemed tailored for Language Arts, History, and Science classes. It would have been helpful for me to have had more references to reading in math.

I thought this was going to be a boring course but it turned to be very informative. I actually learned a lot from this course and plan to use some of the strategies that I learned. If you are looking for a self-paced class, accessible and meaningful curriculum, and help assignments, this is a great option. I give the highest ratings because I was expecting a much less enjoyable experience. It's not the greatest class in the world, but it's helpful, the instruction is present but not overbearing, and the overall content of the class is practical. I'm very glad I have taken this course.
