When I enrolled in this course I was interested in gaining information and resources for my curriculum. I feel that this course has helped me with that. The text book is a valuable tool with plenty of tips and reminders. I have expanded my knowledge and confidence in talking about this topic. I also feel more prepared to help a student who is struggling after a loss. I personally loved the format of this course. I enjoyed reading the text, taking notes and answering the corresponding questions. This helped me focus my attention on the information I was reading and have a concrete take away with the lessons in the modules. Thank you!

This course was extremely supportive and helpful. It validated what I was already doing well and pushed me to grow. Connecting to my past experiences and who I am as a counselor, both personally and professionally, helps me to identify my own biases and be present for others. This class was very deep and at times, overwhelming emotionally to spend so much time learning and thinking about death and grief. I thought it was well-organized and very powerful. I appreciated the ability to have flexible assignments on the final project and now have a concrete but flexible plan to move forward with my goal of supporting grieving students and families.

Interesting course of providing resources to help with coping with loss for students and staff members and good questions to ask to begin the process of coping. Does provide some internal healing and reviewing of one's own life and the trauma that may have been ignored.
