I really enjoyed this course as it made me aware of the importance in recognizing the at-risk students that may be seated within my own classroom. It is easy to get caught up in our own personal lives, school meetings, and all of the things that we need to "do" however, these kids need us and we simply cannot miss an opportunity to provide help, support, compassion, and love for them.

A well-designed course, one I'd highly recommend. The book is interesting, relevant, easy to understand, and is applicable to any classroom or school program. The book covers ACEs (adverse childhood experiences) and strategies to help all students succeed, especially our most disadvantaged. I will definitely apply what I learned from this course in my classroom.
