This course helped me see that going outside of the lines in regards to following curriculum can often lead to more beneficial learning for the students. Its reminds me to bring the humanity back to teaching and to really use it as an opportunity to allow students to connect their own lives into the curriculum, not always the other way around.

This was a comprehensive course which provided some key information about Common Core State Standards and how they should be incorporated in your daily lesson plans. The text required for the course was an easy read and provided several examples of educators who have creatively planned lessons with CCSS's in mind.

This has been a great course. The readings and assignments are engaging, informative and relevant to classroom experiences. The instructor, Tara Warmerdam, responds to assignments submitted in a timely manner. It has allowed an eye opening experience into early literacy, poetry in the classroom, and inquiry learning.

I would recommend this course to my colleagues. I had some technical trouble in the beginning, but I believe I overcame that hurdle, it was mainly just my inexperience using the technology, now that I have completed this online course I would enroll in another.
