All students should be supported in school socially & emotionally as they develop through their childhood, yet multilingual learners often have particularly challenging circumstances and/or trauma that can affect the educational experience. This course is for teachers of any content area, K-14, who are interested in improving the social & emotional development of multilingual learners simultaneously while they meet content and language targets. This course offers a wide lens of social & emotional learning including pedagogy of listening, teacher self-care, compassion fatigue, peace education, mindfulness, and restorative practices. Teachers will have the opportunity to engage with each component of SEL as they apply the strategies to their specific class settings.

NOTE: The required book must be acquired separately.
