Lincoln's life and political journey will be explored, but the critical times in American history in which he lived will provide context for this amazing story of determination, tragedy and triumph. Using standards-based learning outcomes, this course will expose students to the human side of Abraham Lincoln and go beyond the myths and legends to explore how Lincoln, with his wife Mary, overcame tremendous obstacles to rank repeatedly as America's greatest president. There are lessons about leadership, greatness, and the American past to be learned in the process. NOTE: Required textbook must be purchased separately.
