Teaching Disc Golf

This course is designed to build the skills and knowledge required to effectively teach disc golf in a class or a small group setting. Disc golf is a modern spin on traditional golf that is becoming more popular both in and out of the school setting. It is a physical activity that can be played from K-12 into adulthood and provides its players with a number of physical and mental health benefits. Playing disc golf promotes socialization, collaboration, teamwork, and the development of essential skills such as confidence, patience, independence, concentration, and problem solving. Course assignments encourage participants to integrate specific national standards for physical education. Objectives for each lesson are modeled after standards based learning as identified by the Society of Health and Physical Educators (SHAPE).

NOTE: Recommended book must be acquired separately.
