FULLY ONLINE WORKSHOP: Formative assessment refers to a wide variety of methods that teachers use to conduct in-process evaluations of student comprehension and learning needs during a unit or course. In order to effectively conduct formative assessments, educators must be able to select formative assessment techniques to gather the information they want, implement the technique with efficacy to gather quality data, and then modify instruction based on the analysis of data. One goal of formative assessment is to collect and analyze data that can be used to improve student learning and instruction over a course of study.
