I made a mid-life career switch to the library field, and Jo Ellen's course not only gave me a new vocabulary to talk about my profession, it put ideas/concepts/subjects on my radar that I hadn't even been aware of (especially concerning the evolving role of the paraprofessional in the library). The highlight of the course is the comprehensive handbook assignment, where we essentially create our own Bible of Library Fundamentals. I highly recommend LIB 75 with Jo Ellen!

This has been a tremendously beneficial course. The work is challenging, pertinent, and rigorous, but not overwhelming for someone who works full time. I believe every library support staff member would benefit from this course. Jo Ellen establishes an encouraging, professional tone, and she is quick to respond to questions.
