Broaden your knowledge of teaching music in grades Pre-K through 3. This course is designed to assist all teachers in weaving music into the lives of their students. Special emphasis for using recorded music to teach children to sing. National music standards are addressed, promoting singing, improvising, composing, performing and listening to music. Discover ideas for finding time in busy classroom schedules in which to fit musical experience and for integrating music into other subject areas. The course provides an overview on research of how music affects the brain and enhances learning in other subject areas. A variety of recording artists and performers of children's music are introduced. Though geared towards teachers with little or no musical training, this course offers the teacher with a musical background the benefits of creative musical ideas and research information.
